Counsellor and
Psychotherapist
Profile
I am a professionally qualified therapist and counsellor with over 20 years in practice. I have substantial and extensive experience, providing one-to-one psychodynamic psychotherapy and counselling to adults, of all ages and from a diversity of backgrounds, with emotional or psychological difficulties. I am a registered and accredited member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) which, is the nationally recognised standard for counsellors and psychotherapists and I adhere to their code of ethics and practice. I am also a recognised Therapist for BUPA, AXA PPP, Aviva and Vitality healthcare insurance companies.

I completed a rigorous 3 year clinical training at the Manor House Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling (MHCPC) and graduated with a Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling and Therapy in the Community. The MHCPC is a highly regarded BACP accredited training course in North London. Additionally, I have achieved an M.A. in Psychoanalytic Studies with Distinction from the Tavistock Clinic, which is a part of the Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust. The Tavistock is world renowned as being at the forefront of mental health and well-being since the First World War.

Since qualification I have worked in private practice and in various other organisational settings, including as a Consultant Counsellor for a national autistic charity and in GPs' practices within the NHS providing both short and long-term psychodynamic counselling. For many years I worked at Northwick Park Hospital Mental Health Unit, within the psychotherapy service as a psychodynamic psychotherapist, where I specialised in offering treatment to those with more complex and enduring issues. I then have worked for a number of years as a Consultant Clinical Psychotherapist at the Clinic for Dissociative Studies in Crouch End, London.
